Power of Attorney Cost in Dubai: What Affects the Price

A plain guide from the DUNES Power of Attorney team. Last reviewed 4 November 2026.

The cost of a power of attorney in Dubai depends on what the document needs: drafting and typing, notary fees, translation and any attestation. There is no single price. Official fees are only part of the total, so ask for a quote that lists each part.

Which official fees can you check?

  • MOFAIC attestation: MOFAIC lists AED 150 for personal documents and AED 2,000 for commercial documents, and decides the category when you apply.
  • Dubai notary fees: set by Dubai’s Executive Council. Ask the notary for the exact fee before you book.
  • Abu Dhabi automated service: Gulf News reported Dh100 per year of validity at launch. Check the current fee.
  • DIFC Courts: its published notary fees list AED 200 for an individual POA, AED 500 for a corporate one, and AED 100 and AED 250 to cancel them. DIFC is a separate jurisdiction, so these figures do not apply to onshore Dubai.

Why do two power of attorney documents cost different amounts?

A simple document signed in the UAE for use in the UAE has fewer steps than one signed abroad that must be translated and attested. A document with a long list of powers also takes more time to draft and check than one for a single task.

How do you get a useful quote?

  1. Say what the document is for. Explain the task, such as a property sale, a bank matter or a company filing, so the quote matches the powers needed.
  2. Say where it will be signed and used. A document signed abroad or used outside the UAE needs extra translation and attestation steps.
  3. Say what language you need. Confirm whether you need Arabic, English or both, as translation adds to the cost.
  4. Ask for a line-by-line quote. Get drafting, notary, translation and attestation priced separately so you can compare.
  5. Ask about timing. Check what the usual route costs and what a faster route would add.

How can you avoid extra cost?

  • Get the wording right the first time, since corrections mean paying for a second notary visit. Check it against the 2026 Civil Transactions Law changes.
  • Confirm the receiving office’s requirements before you sign.
  • Use one document for related tasks only when it is safe to do so.
  • Plan ahead so you do not pay for urgency.
