Company and Business Power of Attorney in Dubai

Authorise a manager, partner or representative to act for your company with banks, licensing bodies and government departments.

Give your company representative clear, documented authority

A company Power of Attorney lets a named person act on behalf of a business. It is used to open and run bank accounts, sign contracts, deal with licensing authorities, handle visas and manage routine legal and administrative matters. The wording must match the company’s constitutional documents and who is entitled to sign for it.

We draft the document, align it with the company’s licence and signing authority, and arrange notarisation. If the company or its owners are outside the UAE, we also handle translation, attestation and legalisation.

What you will need to start

  • Trade licence or company registration documents
  • Memorandum or articles of association, or equivalent constitutional documents
  • Passport and Emirates ID details of the authorised signatory granting the power
  • Passport or Emirates ID details of the person receiving the power
  • A board resolution or owner’s decision, where the company’s documents require it
  • A list of the matters the representative will handle

What a company Power of Attorney can cover

Typical powers include:

  • Opening, operating and closing company bank accounts, within limits you set
  • Signing commercial contracts and tenders
  • Renewing the trade licence and dealing with licensing authorities
  • Processing employment visas and labour paperwork
  • Representing the company before government offices and, where authorised, before courts

How the process works

  1. Review the company documents. We check who can sign for the company and what the constitutional documents allow, so the Power of Attorney is valid on its face.
  2. Prepare the supporting resolution. Where needed we draft the board or owner resolution that authorises the Power of Attorney.
  3. Draft the Power of Attorney. We set out the powers, any monetary limits and the duration, then send it for your approval.
  4. Notarise. The authorised signatory signs before a notary public with the supporting documents.
  5. Translate, attest and legalise if needed. For companies or signatories abroad, we arrange the certified translation and the attestation chain required for use in the UAE.

What to check before you sign

  • That the person signing is actually authorised to sign for the company. Documents signed by the wrong person are a common cause of rejection.
  • That the powers are specific enough for banks. Many banks want their own wording or specific listed powers.
  • Any financial limits. Setting limits on amounts protects the company.
  • Whether a resolution is needed to support the Power of Attorney.
  • The expiry date and how the company will revoke the authority if the representative leaves.
