A power of attorney can be done online in Dubai for many standard needs. The Ministry of Justice runs a digital POA service for set types, Dubai Courts offers e-notary services for eligible documents, and Abu Dhabi has launched a fully automated service. Custom wording, some receiving offices and use abroad can still need a notary visit.
What online options exist for a power of attorney?
- Dubai Courts e-notary. Customers register, enter their Emirates ID details and attach documents. Some requests are processed automatically, while others are reviewed by court staff.
- Ministry of Justice digital POA. The Ministry’s service offers eight types, including legal cases, real estate, rental disputes, licensing, vehicles, stocks and company management. The Ministry says a document can be generated in under 10 minutes and stored digitally.
- Abu Dhabi automated service. The Abu Dhabi Judicial Department launched a fully automated POA service in November 2025 that uses UAE Pass and pre-approved templates. Gulf News reported fees of Dh100 per year of validity at launch, so check the current fee.
What does online not solve?
- Custom wording. Digital services use set types. If your situation does not fit one, you need a drafted document and a notary.
- Receiving office rules. A bank or land office may have its own wording or its own way of verifying the document.

- Signing from abroad. The Ministry says its remote service is meant for people inside or outside the country, but what you can use depends on your identity credentials. Check before you rely on it.

Will the receiving office accept a digital power of attorney?
Usually the office will want to verify it. Ask the bank, land office or court how it checks a digital POA before you issue one, and whether it wants the set type you are considering. If it does not, a notarised, drafted document is the safer route.
