Terms of Service

The basis on which we provide our Power of Attorney services and this website. Last updated 20 October 2026.

1. About these terms

These terms govern your use of this website and the Power of Attorney services we provide through it. They are an agreement between you and DUNES Legal Translation and Attestation Services, Dubai (“DUNES”, “we”, “us”). “You” means the person using the website or requesting a service, including anyone who instructs us on behalf of another person or a company.

By using this website or asking us to start a service, you accept these terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not accept them, please do not use the website or request our services.

2. Who we are and what we do

We help clients prepare, translate, notarise and attest Power of Attorney documents for use in Dubai and the wider UAE, and for use abroad. Depending on your request, our work can include:

  • drafting and typing the Power of Attorney text from the instructions you give us
  • arranging notarisation through a Notary Public
  • certified translation between Arabic and English
  • attestation or legalisation through the relevant authorities, embassies or consulates
  • explaining which documents each step requires

Each service has its own page on this website. The exact scope of your service is confirmed in the quote we send you.

3. We do not give legal advice

We are not a law firm, and nothing on this website or in our messages is legal advice. Our team can explain how the process works, but we cannot tell you whether a Power of Attorney is the right solution for your situation, how a court or authority will treat it, or which powers you should grant. If you need advice on your rights, risks or the wording of the powers you are granting, please speak to a qualified lawyer before you sign.

4. Using this website

You must be legally able to enter a binding contract under the law that applies to you. You agree to use the website lawfully and not to:

  • submit false, misleading or stolen identity details or documents
  • impersonate another person, or send a request for someone who has not authorised it
  • interfere with the website, try to access it without permission, or introduce harmful code
  • copy or scrape our content in bulk, or reuse it for a competing service
  • use the website to send unsolicited advertising

We may restrict or block access at any time. We do not promise that the website will always be available or free of errors, because maintenance and events outside our control can interrupt it.

5. Requesting a service

Sending an enquiry through a form, the quote popup, email, phone or WhatsApp does not create an order. We review your request, confirm what is needed and send a quote. A service begins when you accept the quote in writing (an email or WhatsApp reply is enough) and we have received any payment or documents we asked for at the start.

A Power of Attorney must be signed by the person granting it, known as the principal, in the way the notary or authority requires. We cannot sign for you, and we will not arrange a signing where we have reason to believe the principal has not freely agreed to it.

6. Information and documents you provide

You are responsible for the accuracy and completeness of the details and documents you give us. This includes names as they appear on passports and Emirates IDs, document numbers, property and company details, and the powers you want granted. You confirm that you are entitled to give us those documents, and that the people named in them know their details are being shared with us for this purpose.

Mistakes in what you supply can cause delay, rejection by an authority or extra cost, and we are not responsible for those results. Please read the final document carefully before signing. Once it is signed or filed, a change may need a new document and fresh charges.

7. Fees and payment

We give you a quote before work starts. Our service fee and the charges of third parties, such as notary, government, translation, embassy, attestation and courier charges, are shown separately where we know them in advance. Third-party charges can change. If an authority raises or adds a charge during the process, we will tell you before we go ahead.

Payment is due as set out in your quote, and we may pause work until it is received. Where UAE VAT applies, it is shown on the quote or invoice.

8. Changes, cancellations and refunds

Please tell us as soon as possible if you want to change or cancel a request.

  • If you cancel before we have started work, we will refund what you have paid us for the service, less any costs we have already incurred for you.
  • Once work has started, you remain responsible for our fees for the work done and for any third-party charges already paid or committed.
  • Amounts paid to notaries, government offices, embassies and other authorities are set by them and cannot be refunded by us, even if the document is later cancelled or not used.
  • If an error on our side causes a service to fail, we will correct it at no extra fee, or refund our fee for that part.
  • A change of mind or change of plans after a document has been signed does not entitle you to a refund.

9. Timelines

Any timeframe we give is an estimate, not a guarantee. Notaries, courts, ministries, embassies and consulates set their own processing times, working hours and holiday closures, and these can change without notice. Whether an urgent option exists depends on what the relevant authority offers.

10. Acceptance by banks, courts and other offices

A properly prepared Power of Attorney can still be questioned or refused by a bank, court, land department, company or foreign authority. Each applies its own rules and may ask for specific wording, a more recent date or extra attestation. If you tell us where the document will be used, we can help you prepare for those requirements, but we cannot guarantee that any third party will accept it.

11. Third-party providers

To complete your service we may work with notaries, certified translators, couriers and attestation channels. They are independent of us and follow their own rules. We choose them with care and remain responsible for our own part of the work, but we are not responsible for the decisions, delays or charges of authorities and other independent bodies.

12. Confidentiality and your data

We treat your documents and details as confidential. We use them only to provide the service, to meet legal obligations, and as described in our Privacy Policy.

13. Our content and intellectual property

The text, layout, images, logo and other material on this website belong to us or are used with permission. You may view and print pages for your own use. You may not copy, republish, sell or build on them without our written permission. Documents we prepare for you are for your use, for the purpose you told us about.

14. Links to other websites

This website may link to external sites, such as government portals or WhatsApp. We do not control them and are not responsible for their content, availability or privacy practices.

15. Information on this website

Information on this website is general and explains how our services work. Government procedures, fees and requirements change, and a page may be out of date. Please confirm current requirements with us before you rely on them for a decision. Nothing on the website is an offer that you can accept by itself. A service is agreed only through the quote process described above.

16. Our responsibility to you

We will carry out our services with reasonable skill and care. To the fullest extent the law allows:

  • we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, such as lost profit, a lost opportunity, or the failure of a transaction that depended on a document
  • our total liability to you for any claim connected with a service is limited to the fees you paid us for that service, not counting third-party charges
  • we are not liable for loss caused by inaccurate information or documents you gave us, by an authority’s decision or delay, or by events outside our reasonable control

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits any liability that cannot be excluded or limited under UAE law, including liability for fraud or deliberate wrongdoing.

17. Declining or ending a service

We may decline, pause or end a service if we believe a request is unlawful, involves false or altered documents, may involve pressure on the person granting the power, or if you do not give us what we ask for. We will tell you if we do, and fees for work already done remain payable.

18. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The version published on this page when you accept a quote is the version that applies to that service. If you keep using the website after an update, you accept the updated terms for your use of the website. The date at the top of the page shows when it was last updated.

19. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the United Arab Emirates as applied in the Emirate of Dubai. If you have a complaint, please contact us first so we can try to resolve it. If we cannot, the courts of Dubai have exclusive jurisdiction.

20. General

These terms, together with your accepted quote and our Privacy Policy, are the whole agreement between you and us about the service. If any part is found to be unenforceable, the rest stays in force. If we do not enforce a right straight away, we have not given it up. You may not transfer your rights under these terms without our written consent.
